THOMPSON HONORED AT MARTELL DINNER

"Dude, I just love 'Night Moves,'" enthuses Maverick President and T.J. Martell Spirit of Excellence honoree Greg Thompson to fellow honoree Dr. Robert Seeger at the 10/2 event in Beverly Hills. Meanwhile, Ticketmaster COO and honoree Amy Howe yearned for a small bag of pistachios. Is there any treatment that will make us go away?

Yes, we kid. But the biz-heavy event, co-hosted by iHeart's Clarence Barnes and Lisa Foxx, featured emotional testimony about the Martell foundation's contribution to cutting-edge treatments for dread diseases, as well as musical performances from Andy Grammer and Ritchie Sambora & Orianthi. Katy Perry and Noah Cyrus were among those saluting Thompson in a video reel; the industry vet was introduced by his very proud son, Ryan.

"Just smile as I'm telling you this, son," Thompson notes to son Ryan. "But stay the hell away from those idiots at HITS."

"And then Darth Vader says to Spiderman, 'No, I said use the FORCE,'" quips Disney Music Group boss Ken Bunt to artist Andy Grammer. Later, a tray of other media franchises went by and Ken took two.
