SECRET GENIUS AWARDS: WRITERS, PRODUCERS IN THE SPOT-LIGHT

Spotify's Secret Genius Awards, celebrating the songwriters and producers behind the biggest and most acclaimed songs, will take place on 11/1 at L.A.'s Vibiana Cathedral. Rumors that Daniel Ek will baptize key stockholders in the Cathedral font couldn't be confirmed at presstime.

The event is part of the streaming behemoth's overall campaign to shine a light on the creators behind users' favorites.

Anyhoo, among the nominees are tunesmiths and producers such as Max Martin, Greg Kurstin, Benny Blanco, Stargate, Steve Mac, Alex Da Kid, J Kash, Lori McKenna, Jack Antonoff, Teddy Geiger, Ashley Gorley, Mike-Will Made It, Sebastian Kole, Metro Boomin, Shane McAnally, Luke Laird, Starrah, Ammar Malik, Boi1da, DJ Mustard, Prince Charlez, John Ryan, Erika Ender, Dann Huff, Zach Crowell, Ross Golan, Ilsey Juber and many more. In addition to overall Songwriter and Producer categories, there are Secret Genius Female and Male contests, genre throwdowns (Pop, Hip-Hop, R&B, Dance, Latin, Rock and Contry), Motion Picture Adaptation, Social Message and Breakthrough. The recipient of the Legendary Genius award will also be announced.
