FB MESSENGER

Live Nation Entertainment has opened a combination box office, information service and social platform within Facebook Messenger. It’s Live Nation’s technological outreach to the 1.3b people who use Messenger every month.

The new bot, which launched today, locates concerts, allows friends to discuss the event and then buy tickets without leaving Messenger.

“Concerts are extremely social experiences, and we’re excited to introduce a concert discovery tool that embodies that social spirit,” said Lisa Licht, Chief Marketing Officer, Live Nation Concerts. “Whether fans choose to interact with our new bot one-on-one, or get their friends involved in the planning, we think they’ll have a lot of fun finding shows to go to.”

Users have the bot pull up events at nearby venues, search artists, or browse through featured events. The bot, over time, learns the user’s preferences and starts building a concert profile to recommend events in the future.

The platform’s new extension technology makes it possible to share and discuss events with multiple users within a chat. Fans can research solo, then share events and discuss.

Fans can then purchase tickets without leaving Messenger, link to an existing Live Nation account to expedite check out.
