The Top 5 Highest-Grossing Films in America Over the Weekend

Fox sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle bowed at the top of this weekend's domestic box office, earning $39m—more than the original, which opened with just north of $36m in 2014.

Warner Bros.' The LEGO Nijago Movie, meanwhile, ended up underperforming slightly, earning $21m to debut at #3. That said, according to Box Office Mojo, September's calendar grosses are still approaching a record high.
