BIEBS BRINGS IT AGAIN

Justin Bieber and BloodPop’s “Friends” (GENPOP Corp./RBMG/Schoolboy/Def Jam/Republic) was released at noon ET today; it's currently #1 at iTunes.

Bieber had tweeted that he would be dropping the track this week. It's listed as JB + Bloodpop (who produced Biebs' "Sorry").

It’s the first official release from BloodPop, who has also worked with Grimes, HAIM, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga and Madonna.

Bieber has been ubiquitous at radio, streaming and retail of late as music's most potent guest vocalist; his turns on Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee's "Despacito" (#1 at Pop radio and rapidly heading toward biggest-single-of-the-modern-era status) and DJ Khaled's "I'm the One" (which also hit #1 at Pop and has streamed and sold magnificently) have helped drive those tracks to stratospheric success.

If anything, the David Guetta track on which he guested, "2U," was initially hampered by the dominance of the other two tracks, though it subsequently gained ground as well.

All of this, of course, came in the wake of Bieber's blockbuster album Purpose and its ginormous world tour.
