COLUMBIA PROMOTES SONKIN TO SVP

Columbia Records has promoted Lisa Sonkin to Senior Vice President of Triple A and Public Radio Promotion. Her boss, Columbia EVP of Promotion Lee Leipsner, had the honor of making the announcement.

“Lisa is one of the most trusted and respected promotion executives in our business,” Leipsner said. “She’s led our Triple A department to unprecedented heights, becoming part of the fabric of our overall success.”

Sonkin latest success at the format is guiding Arcade Fire's "Everything Now" to #1 at Triple A. At Columbia, she has worked with Adele, Hozier, Leon Bridges, HAIM, George Ezra, Rag ‘n’ Bone Man and many others.

She joined Columba Records in 2008 following four years at Epic Records as Vice President of Triple A Promotion. From 1993 to 2004, Lisa worked at Elektra Records where she helped promote Tracy Chapman, Natalie Merchant, Jason Mraz, Phish and others.

“I’m proud to work at a label so committed to honoring its rich heritage and cultivating new talent where I feel supported in my career and empowered as a working mother maintaining that all-important life/work balance,” Sonkin said.
