THIS CHART STORY
IS ON FIRE

Arcade Fire’s first album through Columbia, Everything Now, has officially bowed at #1 on the Sales Plus Streaming (SPS) Chart with 96k. It’s also the only debut to make the Top 30 this week.

Meanwhile, TDE/Interscope juggernaut Kendrick Lamar glides back up to #2 with around 48k for DAMN., and We The Best/Epic’s DJ Khaled rises #11-3 with nearly 40k for the star-studded Grateful.

The Arcade album, by the by, got a nice boost from a ticket bundle for their eagerly awaited Infinite Content tour. And speaking of infinite content, are you sick of us yet?

Thanks to a relatively quiet summer week, the rest of the chart seems to lack any noteworthy movement—much like us after our third bong rip.

On the Streaming Songs Chart, however, J Balvin’s “Mi Gente” (Universal Latin) proves to be heating up, as it jumps #40-18 with 7.7m streams (up 34%). Will this be the next Latin smash to take the season by storm? It certainly looks possible, as Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee f/Justin Bieber’s “Despacito” (UMLE/RBMG/Def Jam/Republic) holds at #1 on that chart with 18m streams.

When it comes to SPS marketshare, SME leads with 41%, UMG is #2 with 40% and WMG is #3 with 18%, while the indies follow with 1%.

Streeting this week are albums from Atlantic Nashville’s Brett Eldredge and Nonesuch’s Randy Newman, as well as NOW’s Now 63.

And then, on 8/11, the world will get Kesha, whose Kemosabe/RCA comeback has a chance at hitting six figures.
