U.K. CHARTS: LANA SCORES THIRD #1

Lana Del Rey has overtaken Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott to land her third U.K. Official Albums #1 with Lust For Life (Polydor) as the latter settle for runner-up with Crooked Calypso (Virgin EMI). Thanks to fans honouring Chester Bennington, Linkin Park are the first U.S. band in 50 years to secure three albums inside the Top 10.

At #2, Heaton & Abbott have landed their highest charting album to date as a duo after previously notching up three #1s as part of former band, The Beautiful South.

Nine Linkin Park albums, all on Warner Bros., have entered the U.K.’s Official AlbumsTop 100 with five in the Top 40 following the tragic death of frontman Chester. The three records in the Top 10 are: Hybrid Theory at #4, One More Light at #5 and Meteora at #7.Minutes to Midnight is at #15 and A Thousand Suns at #38.

On the Official Singles Chart, “In the End” ends the week at #14, “Numb” is #20 and recent release, “Heavy” f/Kiiara, hits a new high at #43.

Elsewhere on albums, Ed Sheeran’s ÷ (Atlantic) falls to #3 while Tyler, The Creator gets his highest charting U.K. album to date at #9 with Flower Boy (Columbia). Dizzee Rascal’s sixth record, Raskit (Island), ends the week at #10. The debut album from British singer-songwriter Declan McKenna, What Do You Think About The Car? (Columbia), enters at #11, and Meek Mill is new at #21 with Wins & Losses (Warner Bros.).

On the Official Singles Chart, “Despacito” (Polydor) is back on top for its 10th (non-consecutive) week. That’s despite now having an accelerated streaming to sales ratio as per the new chart rules. This week’s highest new entry is Louis Tomlinson at #13 with “Back To You” (Syco) f/Bebe Rexha and Digital Farm Animals.

“Wild Thoughts” (Black Butter/We The Best) by DJ Khaled falls to #2, “Unforgettable” (Black Butter) by French Montana f/Swae Lee stays at #3, "Feels" (Columbia) from Calvin Harris f/Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry and Big Sean is at #4 and “Mama” (Virgin EMI) by Jonas Blue rounds off the Top 5.
