DADDY YANKEE TOPS SPOTIFY ARTIST CHART
Daddy Yankee is the first Latin artist to hit #1 on Spotify’s list of the most-streamed artists, displacing Ed Sheeran.
Spotify told The Associated Press that Daddy Yankee had more than 44.7m listeners last month globally, thanks to hits such as "Despacito," "Gasolina" and ''Shaky Shaky." The remix of "Despacito" featuring Justin Bieber is #1 on the Spotify global chart.
"The musical digital revolution has unified the world and this is the proof,” Daddy Yankee wrote in an email to the AP. “We are all in the same boat with no labels or stereotypes."
