After headlining Glastonbury and announcing U.K. and European stadium shows for 2018, Ed Sheeran is spending his 12th week atop Blighty’s Official Albums Chart with ÷ (Atlantic). Over at singles, “Despacito” (Polydor) is #1 with 34k downloads and 7.5m streams this week.
Sheeran is one week away from matching the 13 weeks at #1 his second album, X, spent in 2014/2015. Fellow Glasto headliners Radiohead finish behind Sheeran at #2 with the 20th anniversary reissue of OK Computer, OK Computer OKNOTOK 1997 2017 (XL). The highest new albums entry comes from Imagine Dragons, who score their third Top 5 album at #3 with Evolve (Polydor).
Royal Blood are down to #4 with How Did We Get So Dark (Warner Bros.) and Rag’n’Bone Man is #5 with Human (Columbia). The deluxe edition of Purple Rain (Paisley Park) by Prince & The Revolution is new at #7 while DJ Khaled is #10 with Grateful (Black Butter/We The Best).
Other Glastonbury performers enjoying a sales boost this week include Foo Fighters, whose Greatest Hits (Roswell) is at #6, while The Bee Gees’ greatest hits Timeless (Capitol) rises to #9 after Barry Gibb played the festival's Legend slot. Royal Blood’s self-titled debut soars 22 places to #19, Stormzy jumps 24 spots to #29 with Gang Signs & Prayer (#Merky), and The xx are back in the Top 40 with I See You (Young Turks) at #37.
Over on the Official Singles Chart, Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber have moved ahead to claim the seventh non-consecutive week at #1. The most-downloaded track of the week with 53k sold is the Artists for Grenfell charity single, “Bridge Over Troubled Water” (Syco), which ends at #2 with an additional 2m streams.
DJ Khaled, Rihanna and Bryson Tiller's "Wild Thoughts" (Black Butter/We The Best) is up to #2 . “Unforgettable” (Black Butter) by French Montana f/Swae Lee is #4 and “Mama” (Virgin EMI) by Jonas Blue is #5.
