Blackbear has inked with Todd Moscowitz’s Alamo Records via John Janick’s Interscope.
In addition to having collaborated with Justin Bieber, Pharrell Williams, Linkin Park, G-Eazy, Mike Posner, Childish Gambino, Gnash, Machine Gun Kelly and other artists, the Florida-born, L.A.-based hip-hop artist/writer/producer has been successful as an indie act, reliably selling tickets and earning impressive streams (68m+ on Spotify, 24.2m on SoundCloud for “Idfc”; 60m+ Spotify for “do re mi”). His Digital Druglord set, which dropped in April, bowed in the Top 15; it’s earned 83k+ SPS RTD, and 100m+ total streams.
He’s also, with Posner, one-half of the genre-defying duo Mansionz, which released its self-titled debut album on beartrap/Island earlier this year. Blackbear will spend the next several weeks learning how to pronounce “Joie.”
