James Murphy and Columbia Records have plotted the return of LCD Soundsystem, first with an album, then a 16-city tour that wraps in December with 10 homecoming shows in Brooklyn.
AMERICAN DREAM will be released 9/1 via Columbia/DFA and will include the two tracks issued in May, “call the police” and “american dream.” The other song titles are “oh baby,” “other voices,” “i used to,” “change yr mind,” “how do you sleep?,” “tonite,” “emotional haircut” and “black screen.”
Having started a seven-show residency at Brooklyn Steel Friday, they will return there on 12/11, wrapping the run on 12/23. The tour starts 8/11 in Washington, D.C., and includes an 11/17-21 run at the Hollywood Palladium and stops in Miami, Detroit, Philadelphia and Boston. Tickets go on sale Friday.
Previously announced festival appearances include Pitchfork, Forecastle and Voodoo Music + Arts Experience.
