On the heels of his widely praised solo acoustic performance at One Love Sunday, the ubiquitous Justin Bieber announced his next move on Twitter Tuesday morning. He’s once again a featured vocalist—this time on a single from star producer/DJ David Guetta; the track, "2U," drops Friday; the star has ramped up his enormous fanbase with a tweet about it, which earned 28k retweets and 53k likes in three hours.
We’re hearing that this will be a cooperative between Atlantic (Guetta is signed to Parlophone) and Def Jam. The song has already been playlisted at BBC Radio 1.
Bieber’s label has some experience at this sort of thing via DJ Khaled’s smash “I’m the One,” featuring Bieber, Quavo and Chance the Rapper, which bears the label credit We the Best/Def Jam/Epic, as well as the “Despacito” remix, which is credited as UMLE/RBMG/Def Jam/Republic.
