QUICK EXIT FOR AMAZON U.K.'S PRIME EVENTS MAN

In an unexpected turn of events, the man who was appointed to lead Amazon’s Prime Live Events division, Jason Carter, has exited after just one month in the job. Where does this leave Amazon’s foray into the live music scene in Blighty? And who will replace him?

Carter joined as Director, Prime Live Events, Amazon Tickets at the beginning of May. He previously spent 20 years at the BBC and left as Head of Live Music, International and BBC Introducing.

Shortly after the appointment, Amazon officially launched the Prime Live Events arm to promote its own gigs for Prime members. The first one, with Blondie, had been scheduled to take place in London on 5/23, one day after the Manchester Arena attack. In light of the tragic events, it was postponed and a new date has yet to be announced. Tickets are still on sale for Alison Moyet at the Round Chapel on 6/12 and Texas at Porchester Hall on 6/16.
