HARRY'S APPLE MUSIC DOC: JAMAICA SAY YOU WILL

Apple Music has gone up with Harry Styles: Behind the Album, an in-depth doc featuring interviews and numerous live in-studio performances. Taped in the Jamaica studio where the Columbia star holed up with producer Jeff Bhasker and other collaborators to make his solo debut, the show finds Styles relaxed and expansive as he recounts the joys of writing and recording away from worldly distractions. He also (fondly) recalls his 1D experiences, but clearly relishes the opportunity, as he says, “To let the work do the talking.” Among the highlights: Styles doing a creditable Dylan impression and banging on a soup pot for percussion and Bhasker’s spontaneous rave in the style of a southern evangelist. But seeing the young artist stretch out with his capable studio band underscores, more than any testimony could, how completely he’s entered a new musical phase.
