KATY PERRY'S ALBUM SLATED FOR 6/9

Katy Perry’s next Capitol Records release, Witness, will drop on 6/9 and be followed in September by a five-month North American tour. It’s her first album since 2013’s Prism.

Two songs have already been released from the album—“Chained to the Rhythm” f/Skip Marley and “Bon Appetit” f/Migos. Perry will be the musical guest on Saturday’s season finale of Saturday Night Live.

AEG Presents is promoting the tour, which starts 9/7 in Columbus, Ohio, and stops in New York at Madison Square Garden on 10/2, Nassau Coliseum on 10/3 and on 10/11 and at L.A.’s Staples Center on 11/ 7. The tour has a boatload of sponsors, among them Comcast’s Xfinity, Citi, Covergirl and Katy Perry Parfums.

Ticket pre-sales start Thursday and general public sales start 5/22. Each ticket purchase for WITNESS: The Tour includes a copy of her new album.

Perry has been rumored as a possible judge in ABC's reboot of American Idol. If they launch the show right after the Academy Awards on 3/4, the timing could work out well for her.
