Harry Styles has lived up to expectations as his self-titled Columbia debut kicks off this week’s flipover Friday at #1 at iTunes, leading a flock of seven new releases in the Top 10.
Styles’ album is already #10 at Apple Music, making it not only the highest charting new release, but the only newcomer for miles. Another rookie release, Miley Cyrus’ “Malibu” (RCA), is #1 on iTunes’ song chart and, at #30 on Apple Music, has attained the highest chart position of any song released in the last week.
Back at iTunes’ albums chart, Zac Brown Band’s first album for No Reserve/Elektra, Welcome Home, is #2 followed by Paramore’s first album in four years, After Laughter (WMG).
Machine Gun Kelly’s second full-length, bloom (Bad Boy/Interscope) flowers at #4. New Kids on the Block, whose last release was in 2013, return with their Thankful EP (NKOTB) at #6.
The deluxe edition of Seether’s Poison the Parish (Concord) opens at #7, while another EP, New Addictions from the Ross Lynch-led R5 (Hollywood), drops in at #10.
