BBC BREAKS OUT ITS CHOSEN TWO DOZEN

The BBC has unveiled the 24 new acts it’s supporting for the Big Weekend festival on 5/27-28. Among those set to play the Introducing stage are Loyle Carner (Virgin EMI, pictured), Mullally (Black Diamond/Warner), Pale Waves (Dirty Hit) and Declan McKenna (Columbia).

The two-day event, which will be attended by 50k free ticket holders, takes place in Hull. It will be broadcast live on Radio 1 and streamed online. Previously announced headliners are Katy Perry and Kings of Leon.

On Saturday, McKenna will be joined by Universal act Stevie Parker (Virgin EMI) and indie and unsigned names Shells, C.O. (aka Chiedu Oraka), Flawes (Red Bull), Krrum (37 Adventures), Life, Scorpz, Superfood (Dirty Hit), The Hubbards, The Modern Strangers and Zuzu.

Joining Carner, Mullally and Pale Waves on Sunday’s bill are Warner act Seramic (Parlophone), plus UMG signings Cosima (Island), Freak (Polydor) and The Big Moon (Fiction). The unsigned and indie acts who'll play on that day are Brand New Friend (Semi-Skimmed), Haarm (Big Life), Jack Conman (Axolotl), Lumer (Warren) and Our Girl (Cannibal).
