Quality Control/Motown/Capitol’s Lil Yachty heads to a prom and blossoms as the life of the party in his new video for “Bring It Back.” Hope his thirsty classmates don’t unwittingly go back to the punchbowl for seconds.
Millicent Hailles, who directed Yachty’s “Peek-a-Boo,” returns with a video rich in references to his parents’ generation—the Looney Toons graphics, a Love Boat theme, a John Hughes-inspired innocence and jiggling Jell-O that reminds some of us how much we miss Chick Hearn. The video’s release coincides with the announcement of his tour.
His 27-date "Teenage Tour" starts 8/11 in Dallas and wraps 10/20 in Atlanta; the New York show is 8/25 at Terminal 5 and L.A. is 9/16 at The Novo. Tickets go on-sale Friday. His album Teenage Emotions drops 5/26.
