CHILDISH GAMBINO UPDATE
Despite previous reports that a new deal was in place for Childish Gambino, sources close to the situation tell us that three labels are now contending with Glassnote for the artist, and that this is far from over.
The eclectic artist's "Redbone," on Awaken, My Love! (on Daniel Glass' Glassnote) is the #4 Shazamed song in the country and is Top 20 at Rhythm radio and Top 25 at Urban. The song also got a boost from appearing in the smash film Get Out.
Glassnote's much in-demand distribution deal with UMG is ending; will this development have an impact on what happens next? Stay tuned.
