RBMG/Def Jam star Justin Bieber welcomed Universal Latin's Luis Fonsi onto a Purpose Tour stage in Puerto Rico Tuesday night to perform Fonsi's song "Despacito" (which the Biebs recently remixed) for the very first time.
The hot new track is making a serious splash just in time for summer. As of Thursday morning, the remix is #5 on iTunes' overall singles chart, while the original sits in the Top 50. It's #4 on the Spotify Global 200 and #28 in the U.S.
Premiering on Monday, the “Despacito Remix” raked in more than 20m YouTube/VEVO views in just 24 hours.
How big is this thing gonna get? Could it broaden Bieber's already massive base? Pass the popcorn.
