LORDE JOINS BBC WEEKEND FEST

Lorde will be visiting Blighty in May after joining the star studded line-up of BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Hull on 5/27. The Chainsmokers, Rita Ora, Kasabian and Royal Blood are also new additions to the bill.

As previously announced, Katy Perry is playing the Saturday night headline slot. Others on the main stage include Biffy Clyro, Emeli Sande, Galantis, Imagine Dragons, James Arthur, Kasabian and Zara Larsson.

The Where It Begins Stage will host Haim, JP Cooper, Lana Del Rey, London Grammar, Plan B, Rag’n’Bone Man, The Amazons, Two Door Cinema Club and You Me At Six. On Sunday, the acts are Alt-J, Anne Marie, Blossoms, Christine & the Queens, Circa Waves, Dua Lipa, Mura Masa, Royal Blood and Twin Atlantic.

On the second day of the free, ticketed event on 5/28, Kings of Leon, Little Mix and Stormzy are headlining. Alongside Ora and The Chainsmokers, Bastille, Clean Bandit, Sean Paul and Shawn Mendes will play.

50k free tickets for the annual event were snapped up earlier this month in under 50 minutes, with 95% of them going to folks in the local area.
