Fellow 1D bandmate ZAYN holds the crown when it comes to first week debut solo single sales—“Pillowtalk” (RCA) tallied 112k last year.
Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” (Atlantic) is 3k sales behind Styles at #2, ending its 13 week run at #1. The track is the most streamed of the week with 6.8m plays. “Galway Girl” follows at #3. Clean Bandit f/Zara Larsson’s “Symphony” (Atlantic) is #4 with and Drake’s “Passionfruit” (Island) completing the Top 5.
Over on the Official Albums Chart, The Chainsmokers have the highest new entry with Memories… Do Not Open (RCA) at #3. Sheeran’s Divide (Atlantic) has 84k combined chart sales since Friday to remain at #1 for a fifth consecutive week. Rag’n’Bone Man’s Human (Columbia) is #2, More Life (Island) by Drake is #4 and Take That remain at #5 with Wonderland (Polydor).
Anoth three albums also chart as new entries inside the Top 10: Deep Purple’s 20thstudio album Infinite (Ear Music) lands at #6; Father John Misty’s Pure Comedy (Bella Union) is his first Top 10 at #8; and Mike & The Mechanics return to the Top 10 for the first time since 1996 with Let Me Fly (BMG) at #9.
