DRAKE BOLSTERS BRITISH TALENT

Drake has extended a helping hand across the Atlantic in featuring a host of talented British artists on More Life. Indie acts Giggs, Jorja Smith (pictured) and Skepta are seeing a considerable rise in the popularity of their catalogs on Spotify (excluding the Drake tracks) in the U.S. and beyond.

Smith has seen the highest rise in overall global listeners on Spotify, adding over 48k since Saturday to reach 821k Thursday. L.A. is where the British artist is most popular outside of London.

Giggs has enjoyed a 24k rise over the last five days, bringing his total to 733k. Skepta, who already had over 1.66m global monthly listeners, is up 10k to 1.67m.

On Sunday—the day after the release of More Life—Giggs saw a 146% rise in streams compared to the previous week, while Skepta enjoyed a 21% rise and Smith 12%.

At the time of writing, Drake had 12 tracks in the Top 20 of Spotify’s U.K. Top 50 chart.
