YES, DAYTIME EMMYS HAVE MUSIC CATEGORIES
Deep into the list of the Daytime Emmy nominations—before you get to the talk-show hairstylists but after the sound editing on pre-school animation shows—are a collection of music categories. Pentatonix and Charles Bradley are among the nominees.
In the category of Outstanding On-Camera Musical Performance in a Daytime Program Pentatonix is nominated for their performance on Rachael Ray and Bradley’s nom is for his CBS This Morning Saturday appearance. Other nominees are Michael Buble (Live with Kelly), the cast of The Color Purple (Live With Kelly) and St. Paul and the Broken Bones (CBS This Morning Saturday).
Pop artists in other categories include jazz pianist Kris Bowers (Outstanding Music Direction and Composition); singer-songwriter Katie Herzig (Outstanding Original Song); and Harry Connick Jr. (Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host).
