U.K. MIDWEEKS: DIVIDE SALES GO INTO SEVEN DIGITS

Ed Sheeran’s ÷ (Atlantic) has crossed the 1m combined sales mark in Blighty after 16 days as it looks set to enjoy a third week at #1 on the Official Albums Chart. There are three new entries in the albums Top 5 at midweek stage, while rising star Zara Larsson and Clean Bandit have the highest new single.

÷ has tallied 1.07m sales across physical, digital and streaming, crossing 1m Sunday. Four new albums are on track for Top 10 debuts in the U.K. this week, led by the 14th studio album from Depeche Mode, Spirit (Columbia), at #2.

Dame Vera Lynn, who’ll be receiving a birthday card from the Queen this week as is tradition when one turns 100, looks set to beat her own record as the oldest living artist to reach the Top 20 with her new album, 100 (Decca), currently sitting at #3.

Drake’s playlist More Life (Island), which features a host of independent British artists including Jorja Smith, Skepta, Sampha and Giggs, is at #4. Rag’n’Bone Man’s Human (Columbia) is down to #5.

Swedish pop act Larsson enters at #6 with her debut, So Good (Black Butter), and her Clean Bandit collab “Symphony” (Atlantic) is new at #5 on the Official Singles midweek update.

Higher up on the singles tally, Sheeran’s ode to Ireland, “Galway Girl,” could knock “Shape of You” from the #1 spot this week, with just 2k sales separating the two. “Castle on the Hill” follows at #3, and “Something Like This” (RCA) by Chainsmokers and Coldplay is #4.

Three more songs enter the Top 10 for the first time: Martin Jensen’s “Solo Dance” (3beat) climbs to #6 from #12, Anne-Marie’s “Ciao Adios” (Atlantic) leaps #20 to #7, and Zedd & Alessia Cara’s “Stay” (Interscope) shifts to #9 from #23.
