U.K. CHARTS: SHEERAN'S DIVIDE
SHY OF 1M SOLD

Ed Sheeran comes up just short of hitting the 1 million sales mark in Blighty across two weeks as÷ (Atlantic) notches 304k combined sales this week, bringing its total tally to 976k. Over on the Official Singles Chart, Sheeran still has nine songs in the Top 10.

Laura Marling has the highest new entry on the Official Albums Chart at #5 with sixth set Semper Femina (Kobalt). Rag’n’Bone Man is still #2 with Human (Columbia), Sheeran is #3 with X and Stormzy’s Gang Signs & Prayer (Merky) is #4.

Further down, Soft Cell and Marc Almond’s Hits And Pieces (UMC) debuts at #7 and Circa WavesDifferent Creatures (Virgin EMI) is new at #11.

Over at singles, Sheeran’s “Shape of You” spends its 10th week at #1 with 106k combined sales since Friday; “Galway Girl” stays at #2, “Castle on the Hill” does so at #3 and “Perfect” moves down one place to #5. The highest non-Sheeran entry is The Chainsmokers and Coldplay’s “Something Like This” (RCA) at #4.

Other climbers are far further down. Danish DJ/producer Martin Jensen vaults from #25 to #12 with “Solo Dance” (3beat), while Zedd and Alessia Cara’s "Stay" (Interscope) hits a new high at #23. Julia Michaels cracks the Top 40 with her debut single "Issues" (Polydor) up eight places to #36, and Steps debut at #37 with their comeback track "Scared of the Dark" (Absolute).
