Nicki Minaj’s three freshly dropped tracks have shot straight into the iTunes Top 5 on flipover Friday with “No Frauds” f/Drake & Lil Wayne (YMCMB/Republic) hitting #1. On the albums side, Disney is enjoying a double dip.
Walt Disney Records’ soundtrack to Beauty and the Beast, which opens Thursday, sits at #2 (standard edition) and #3 (the deluxe edition, which includes Alan Menken’s score in addition to songs by performed by Ariana Grande & John Legend, Audra McDonald and Celine Dion).
The Shins’ fifth album Heartworms (Columbia) opens at #4, followed by Josh Turner’s sixth studio effort Deep South (MCA Nashville) at #5. Speaking of Nashville, the first Music of Nashville soundtrack (Lions Gate/ABC/BMLG) since the series moved to CMT, comes in at #8. The second album from Concord’s Valerie June, The Order of Time, is #9.
Back on the iTunes singles side, Minaj’s “Regret in Your Tears” is #3, two slots above “Changed It” f/Lil Wayne. At Apple Music, “No Frauds” is #31, though that is likely to change quickly. Fans of Biggie Smalls have been streaming his music to honor the 20th anniversary of his murder, lifting The Notorious B.I.G.’s Greatest Hits (Bad Boy) to #23.
