RECORD STORE DAY RETURN FOR DAVID BOWIE

Live recordings and new mixes from The Thin White Duke's extensive catalog will arrive in time for Record Store Day's 10th edition on 4/22 with Parlophone set to release two limited edition Bowie albums. CRACKED ACTOR is the first official release of the late star's Philly Dogs Tour show at the Universal Amphitheatre in L.A. from September ’74, while BOWPROMO features alternative mixes of some of the songs that appeared on the ultra-rare Hunky Dory era promo album.

The former will arrive in a three-LP set. All of the multi-track tapes were reunited in one place in November of last year and mixed officially for the first time by longtime Bowie collaborator Tony Visconti at Human Studios in NYC.

The packaging features rare and unseen photographs from the ’74 show by Terry O’Neill and Jamie Andrews. The set list includes two tracks that had been recorded for the album The Gouster, which was released for the first time last year as part of the Who Can I Be Now? box set.

BOWPROMO was originally pressed in small quantities in ’71. Its new one-sided version features seven Bowie tracks plus five exclusive prints and sleeve notes, housed in a presentation box. It was produced and mixed by Ken Scott (assisted by The Actor) at Trident Studios in London.
