FLIPOVER FRIDAY: NEW ARRIVALS AT iTUNES AND APPLE MUSIC

Every label executive seemingly circled 3/3 on their calendars and wrote “stay away” once it was announced Ed Sheeran’s third major label album would be coming out on that day. Beyond Khalid’s American Teen (RCA), new offerings are sparse at iTunes and Apple Music.

As expected, Sheeran’s ÷ (Asylum U.K.) debuts at #1 on iTunes this flipover Friday and is already #8 at Apple Music.

American Teen, the debut album from Texas singer Khalid , opens at #5 at iTunes and #10 at Apple Music. Worship leader William McDowell’s Sounds of Revival II: Deeper (Delivery Room/eOne) is the only other Top 10 debut, coming in at #9.

The iTunes’ album chart continues to display an Oscars effect with three soundtracks from nominated films—Trolls, Moana, La La Land— in the Top 11.

Over on the songs side, Lorde’s “Green Light” (Lava/Republic) hits #3 after just 24 hours of being on sale.
