DJ KHALED STAYS GRATEFUL

Playing out like something ripped straight from a screenplay of Fox's Empire, DJ Khaled along with his partner L.A. Reid and Epic Records, held a spectacularly flashy and memorable announcement event at the Beverly Hills Hotel today, to reveal that a new album is on the way called Grateful.

There is no arguing that Khaled is now one of the biggest media stars in the world, judging by the packed house of TV cameras and reporters in the room.

The proceedings began with a personal video intro from movie/music star Jamie Foxx—who plugged an upcoming film called All Star Weekend (in which Khaled, according to Foxx, has a role); Chance The Rapper then walked up to the Ciroc-branded podium to give a short sermon about why Khaled matters, saying in part, "he conquered and branded Summers with his albums, now it's a generation."

Chance introduced a second video piece that recapped the last year of TV appearances by the star DJ, highlighting how his Snapchat following has begun to morph a new role from a master of ceremonies to motivational leader, as he sat in various interviews with Ellen, The View, The Daily Show, Jimmy Kimmel and Good Morning America.

Once DJ Khaled took the podium, in a bright pink satin suit and armed with multiple wisecracks and "major keys" that had the room laughing, it was to reveal that in light of all the blessings he's received over the last year including the birth of his son Asahd Khaled, that his new project would be called Grateful.

Khaled also announced that Asahd Khaled would be the Executive Producer.

Lucious Lion couldn't have done or said it better.
