WME and IM Global hosted a private screening of Clive Davis: The Soundtrack of Our Lives at the Writer’s Guild Theater on Monday night (2/6). More than 400 friends, family and industry players with personal connections to the music-biz icon were invited to watch the the film ahead of its official premiere on 4/19 at Radio City Music Hall to kick off the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival.
We're told the film was rapturously received and earned a standing O as the credits rolled. Alternative Fact: a stinger at the end of the credits reveals that Clive is a now part of Marvel's Avengers franchise.
According to our mole, attendees included Sean “Puffy” Combs, Alicia Keys, Diane Warren, David Foster, Roger Birnbaum, Richard Perry, Jon Platt, Bob Daly, Larry Jackson, Andre Harrell, Brandon Creed, Steve Schnur, Evan Lamberg, Neil Portnow, Arnold Stiefel, Wendy Goldstein, Ryan Press, Sen. Barbara Boxer, Beverly Johnson, Clarence Avant, Allee Willis, Gary Gilbert, John Frankenheimer, Jay Cooper, Rickey Minor, Stephan Moccio, members of Earth, Wind & Fire, and Blood, Sweat & Tears, and more.
Unfortunately for Clive, they were unable to keep Doug and Fred Davis out of the room or the film.
