FLIPOVER FRIDAY: iTUNES AND APPLE MUSIC NEW ARRIVALS

The title of Big Sean’s debut album—Finally Famous—is proving prescient as his fourth album, I Decided. (G.O.O.D./Def Jam), parks itself at #1 on iTunes and #2 at Apple Music this morning on flipover Friday. Forbes is even predicting he is music’s next superstar.

While seeing Big Sean debut high on the charts is no surprise, what follows might be: Three of the six new releases in the iTunes Top 10 are religious. It starts with Reba McEntire’s first gospel album, Sing It Now: Songs of Faith & Hope (Rockin’ R/BMLG), at #3, followed by Kari Jobe’s The Garden (KAJE/Sparrow) at #4 and CeCe WinansLet Them Fall in Love (Pure Springs Gospel) at #9.

The latest hit musical on Broadway, Dear Evan Hansen, sees its Autumn Smile Broadway cast album (with songs from two of the La La Land tunesmiths) open the curtain at #2.

Gelato from Paper Route Empire Southern rapper Young Dolph scoops up #7 at iTunes and #6 at Apple Music.

On the singles side, two Wednesday releases continue to impress: Sam Hunt’s “Body Like a Back Road” (MCA Nashville) holds onto #1 and Imagine Dragons’ “Believer” (KIDinaKORNER/Interscope), which will be featured in Nintendo’s Super Bowl commercial Sunday, is #4.

At Apple Music, Big Sean’s two strongest performing tracks are “Bounce Back” at  #4 and “Moves” at #10.

The Ariana Grande-John Legend duet on "Beauty and the Beast" (from the Disney ST, now in pre-order) holds the #16 spot.
