Sony Masterworks' Billy Porter will be dropping a new version of "Edelweiss" on inauguration day. The number, a pointed reworking of the Sound of Music standard recalling the ascent of the Nazis, is being presented as a "prayer for hope and peace" at the dawn of a decidedly troubled era (note the hashtag #BlessOurHomeland; the song is also featured prominently in The Man in the High Castle). The Tony-winning Broadway star is currently preparing his all-star set The Soul of Richard Rodgers, which will feature timeless works by Rodgers & Hammerstein, Rodgers & Hart and more, with guests including Penatonix, India.Arie, Hamilton's Leslie Odom, Jr. and Renõée Elise Goldsberry and more.
