U2 TAKING JOSHUA TREE ON 30TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR

U2 will celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Joshua Tree with a tour that will visit 17 cities in North America and eight in Europe. The Live Nation-promoted tour, which includes at headline appearance at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, starts 5/12 in Vancouver, B.C.

Mumford & Sons, OneRepublic and The Lumineers will open shows in North America; Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds is the support act in Europe. The 1987 album, the Interscope band’s first #1 in the U.S., catapulted U2 to international superstardom and featured the singles “With Or Without You,” “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” and “Where The Streets Have No Name.” The album won a BRIT Award and two Grammys, one of which was Album of the Year.

Their hometown show, in Dublin’s Croke Park, comes near the end of the tour on 7/22.
