FLIPOVER FRIDAY: iTUNES AND APPLE MUSIC NEW ARRIVALS

Three new releases have at least temporarily broken up the soundtrack stranglehold on iTunes’ Album chart. And Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” and “Castle on the Hill” have shot to #1 and 2 in the Songs Top 10 the morning of their release.

Halestorm’s collection of six covers by Metallica, Joan Jett and others, ReAniMate 3.0 (WEA), opens at #1 followed by Dropkick Murphys11 Short Stories of Pain & Glory (Born and Bred). They too get in a cover: Gerry and the Pacemakers’ “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” the theme song of Liverpool’s soccer team.

Pink Guy, the alter ego of YouTube personality Filthy Frank, comes in at #4 with his self-released Pink Season.
