The Rock &andRoll Hall of Fame has come up with a different way to unveil the class of 2017 inductees—they’ll be beamed down via satellite.
The inductees will be announced Tuesday (12/20) at 8am ET/5am PT, during by a live broadcast on SiriusXM’s music-talk channel Volume (106). Rock Hall Foundation CEO Joel Peresman will do the honors on Feedback, hosted by Nik Carter and Lori Majewski.
One more time, the nominees for 2017 induction are (alphabetically) Bad Brains, Joan Baez, The Cars, Chic, Depeche Mode, Electric Light Orchestra, J. Geils Band, Jane’s Addiction, Janet Jackson, Journey, Chaka Khan, Kraftwerk, MC5, Pearl Jam, Tupac Shakur, Steppenwolf, Joe Tex, Yes and The Zombies.
Fan voting will continue at rockhall.com through the end of today. The top five vote-getters will comprise a “fans’ ballot” that will collectively be tallied along with the other ballots.
The 32nd annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place in April at Barclays Center in Brooklyn for the third time. The ceremony will once again have its TV premiere on HBO, with a radio broadcast on SiriusXM.
