WEEKND STREAMS TO NEW SPOTIFY LANDMARK

The fine folks at Spotify report that XO/Republic's The Weeknd, now the top artist on the streaming giant, just passed the 40 million monthly listeners mark. He is the first artist to achieve this. His "Starboy" f/Daft Punk, by the by, is #1 on the Spot's Global Top 50, while another collab with the robots, "I Feel It Coming," is #8 on that chart. As we noted earlier today, he's now at 608k SPS and recently surpassed fellow streaming colossus Drake's global first-week streaming numbers.
