The stats are here and it’s clear the 2016 radio landscape was dominated by Gary Spangler’s Republic, which not only ranks #1 in overall marketshare (17.9) but secured enough hits across the FM dial to rank as the #1 label at the Top 40, Rhythm, AC and Hot AC formats. Joe Riccitelli’s RCA is right behind at #2 in overall share (12.5), followed by Lee Liepsner’s Columbia at #3 (10.9), while Rick Sackheim’s Def Jam sits at #4 overall (10.3) but solidified a #1 share at Urban and followed closely behind Republic at Rhythm (#2) and Top 40 (#3).
Todd Glassman and Epic land at #6 in overall share, while Warner Bros.’ Peter Gray dominates the Active Rock space at #1 while also notching Top 5 showings in both the Alternative and Triple A formats. And rounding out the Top 10 in overall marketshare is new Capitol promo head Greg Marella’s revitalized team.
