FLIPOVER FRIDAY: iTUNES AND APPLE MUSIC NEW ARRIVALS

The explicit version of The Hamilton Mixtape (Hamilton Uptown Limited) featuring Sia, Usher, Alicia Keys, Andra Day, John Legend and, of course, Lin-Manuel Miranda, gets off the first shot on flipover Friday, opening at #1 on iTunes among today’s new album releases. Childish Gambino is making a strong early showing as well.

“Awaken, My Love!” from Glassnote’s Gambino, his third album, opens at #2 on both the iTunes sales chart and Apple Music’s albums streaming chart.

America’s Got Talent winner Grace VanderWaal is at #3 with her debut EP Perfectly Imperfect (SYCO/Columbia) and the self-titled debut album from RCA Nashville’s Kane Brown opens at #4.

The Rolling Stones’ album of blues covers, Blue & Lonesome (Interscope), slides in at #5 followed by John Legend’s Darkness and Light (Columbia) at #8. Deadmau5’s latest on mau5trap Recordings, W:/2016ALBUM/ is #9, one slot ahead of the clean version of The Hamilton Mixtape.

Apple Music, meanwhile, has become the land of XO/Republic’s The Weeknd, whose tracks from Starboy occupy 16 of the Top 20’s slots. The Hamilton Mixtape sits at #18.
