Ministry of Sound Head of Marketing Nicola Spokes is moving to UMG to take up the position of U.K. Label Head of the major's global label services arm, Caroline International. Spokes replaces Emma Greengrass who left in August to head up management firm Wildlife as MD.
Spokes, who will take up her new position in April, leaves Ministry shortly after the previously independent label was taken under the wing of Jason Iley’s Sony Music U.K. She was named as a key exec in HITS' recent U.K. special, looking after the breakthrough of up-and-comer Louis Berry alongside A&R Director Dipesh Parmar. Who will take her place?
Spokes joined Ministry 15 years ago in the International Marketing department, and has since overseen successful campaigns for London Grammar and Example.
Michael Roe, Joint MD of Caroline International alongside Jim Chancellor, said: “Emma [is] just tremendous. Massively experienced, brimming with ideas and with an innate understanding of the importance of managing relationships in an artist/label service role. She will bring a wonderful new energy and dynamic to the U.K. team.”
Spokes said, “Leaving Ministry of Sound after 15 years with the company and seven years working in the artist label with David Dollimore and Dipesh Parmar, whom I have a huge amount of love and respect for, was a really difficult decision for me to make.
“But joining Caroline International as U.K. Label Head is a great opportunity for me, and I'm really excited to become part of the team in April."
