The CMA Awards are affecting the Top 10s at iTunes as singles from Little Big Town, Keith Urban, Tim McGraw and Maren Morris hold down the top four slots on flipover Friday and four country albums remain in the Top 10 on the albums side. Speaking of the albums list, have you ever seen so many black & white covers at the top of the chart?
One of those b&w portraits belongs to RCA’s Alicia Keys, whose HERE gets the early start at #1. Bon Jovi’s first album since the departure of longtime guitarist Richie Sambora—featuring another b&w cover shot— This House is Not For Sale (Captain Kidd/Island), opens the door at #2.
The only other newcomer in the Top 10 is Common’s Black America Again (Def Jam), which comes in at #9.
Little Big Town’s “Better Man” (Capitol Nashville) is #1 on iTunes two weeks after its release. McGraw’s “Humble and Kind” (McGraw Music/BMLG) is #3 while his album Damn Country Music, released today, is #36.
