REPUBLIC INKS HIT TUNESMITH MICHAELS FOR ARTIST DEAL

Republic has inked an artist deal with hit songwriter Julia Michaels. The talented tunesmith is now recording her debut EP, due out early next year. Michaels has penned or co-penned smashes (largely with longtime collaborator Justin Tranter) for Justin Bieber (“Sorry”), Selena Gomez (“Good for You”), Hailee Steinfeld (“Love Myself”) and plenty more. She performed “Carry Me” with Kygo before a global audience at the Closing Ceremonies of the Rio Olympics.

Songs she’s worked on have earned 8m+ streams and the SPS equivalent of 50m songs sold worldwide.

“From the first day I met Julia it was clear that she was not just a writer, but a very unique artist,” declared Republic prexy Charlie Walk. Her trademark vocals, writing prowess, and musical vision puts her in a category all her own.  We're thrilled to be a part of her upcoming journey and to share her art with the world. I also invite her to commence using the #VIPLife hashtag.”
