BRUNO VS. THE WEEKND: PREORDER PUGILISM

Bruno Mars has now been in preorder for two full weeks for forthcoming set 24k Magic (WMG), due out 11/18; he racked up 15k in the period ending last Thursday. XO/Republic’s The Weeknd, meanwhile, has been on preorder for four full weeks with his Starboy (slated for release on 11/25; his total for that period is 29k. In his first two weeks, The Weeknd collected 24k total preorders.

Turning to the first two weeks of track sales, The Weeknd’s “Starboy” is outselling Bruno Mark’s 24k Magic 208k to 170k. Stay tuned for updates as these two megastars continue to square off in the marketplace.
