ROLLING STONES REVISIT BLUES FOR FIRST ALBUM IN A DECADE

Mississippi Mick Jagger, Lonesome Keith Richards, Charlie “Time Doctor” Watts and Ponyboy Ronnie Wood are returning to the music that inspired them 50 plus years ago on Blue and Lonesome, the first Rolling Stones album in more than a decade. Interscope will release the set on 12/2.

The album is a collection of a dozen Chicago blues, among them Willie Dixon’s “I Can’t Quit You baby,” Howlin Wolf’s “Commit a Crime,” and Magic Sam’s “All of Your Love.”

The Stones dug deep for the collection, covering Jimmy Reed’s “Ride ‘Em On Down” and “Little Rain,” Wolf’s “Just Like I Treat You,” Little Walter’s “Blue and Lonesome” and Little Johnny Taylor’s “Everybody Knows About My Good Thing.”

Don Was and The Glimmer Twins produced the album, which was recorded in three days in December at British Grove Studios in West London. Darryl Jones played bass, Chuck Leavell and Matt Clifford handled keyboards. Eric Clapton, who happened to be in the next studio making his own album, played on “Everybody Knows About My Good Thing” and “I Can’t Quit You Baby.”

A deluxe edition of will include a 75 page mini-book about the making of the album and band postcard prints.
