KONOWITCH & CAVALLO LAUNCH CLASSIC ROCK VEHICLE

Former Maverick and Hollywood Records chief Abbey Konowitch, producer/executive Rob Cavallo and Video Games Live creator Tommy Tallarico have joined forces on RockmaniaLive!, a global music franchise and multimedia music experience. They are currently seeking equity investors via a startengine.com site.

According to their crowd-funding page, the trio aims “to create a global music franchise, similar to Cirque du Soleil or Blue Man Group, that has a scalable brand and production platform that supports simultaneous performances across multiple venues. RockmaniaLive! will deliver the ultimate in multi-media, rock symphonic performances of legendary classic rock albums featuring artists such as Led Zeppelin, The Who and Pink Floyd.”

Rehearsals, production and full build-out of the show is scheduled to start in December with the first live shows scheduled for 2017. Cavallo, producer of Green Day, Fleetwood Mac and others, is handling the arrangements with the assistance of composer David Campbell.

"What makes this such a dynamic experience is that we’re actually replicating the technical aspects of the sound of the original bands by using similar equipment, such as amps, instruments, mixing boards and more,” Cavallo said. “The multimedia atmosphere and technical aspects of the sound will offer a genuine experience for generations of rock fans.”

The target audience is obviously classic rock fans willing to pony up for a show geared toward filling the gap as those acts retire from touring. “RockmaniaLive! is an opportunity for classic rock fans to continue to experience the ‘soundtrack of their lives’ and share it with their whole family in a unique and visceral way,” Konowitch said.

The crowdfunding effort has raised close to $24k in nine days. The goal is to raise $250k within 60 days.
