SPOTIFY STANDINGS: A "STAR" IS RISING

The Chainsmokers f/Halsey's song of the summer, "Closer" (Columbia), is still #1 on Spotify's global, U.S. and U.K. charts—for a fifth consecutive week—but now, it seems to have some real competition, as The Weeknd's white-hot "Starboy" (XO/Republic) appears at #2, #2 and #3, respectively.

Across the pond, James Arthur's "Say You Won't Let Go" (SYCO) makes its Top 10 debut in the #2 spot. FYI, the former X Factor winner was #1 on the Shazam U.K. Top 100 last week—the same time his ballad hit BBC Radio 1's C List, where it currently remains.
