U.K. CHARTS: PASSENGER'S VOYAGE TO #1

Passenger managed to hold off The Boss and secure his first #1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart. Young as the Morning, Old as the Sea (Black Crow), his fourth full-length, topped Bruce Springsteen’s Chapter and Verse (Columbia) by combined sales of 704 units.

Shawn Mendes’ second album, Illuminate (EMI), tops his debut by hitting #3 followed by Marillion’s F E A R (Ear Music), their first Top 10 album in more than a decade. Last week’s #1, Bastille’s Wild World (Virgin EMI), is #5.

Breakin' Outta Hell (Spinefarm) from Australian rockers Airbourne opens at 9.

On the singles side, SYCO/Columbia’s James Arthur’s “Say You Wont Let Go” rises to #1 giving the former X Factor win his first #1 since 2012. The Weeknd f/Daft Punk’s “Starboy” (XO/Republic) debuts at #3.
