DASH RADIO EMBRACES ITS
INNER GENIUS

Digital-app broadcasting network Dash Radio (which we introduced to you last month) has announced a new custom app integration today: Lyric site Genius.com will create an extended experience by allowing listeners to drill down on the finer points of music lyrics and discover additional information about the artists, songs, and albums that are played across the 75-channel Dash network...

Genius' music knowledge is crowdsourced— passionate fans and scholars from across the world earn "Genius IQ" for their contributions. Some of the best insights come from the artists themselves; Eminem, Nas, Selena Gomez, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ariana Grande and Blake Shelton are among the top contributors.

In addition to lyrics, Genius will also incorporate transcripts and annotations from Dash Radio's shows, personalities and artist channel partners like DJ Skee, Snoop Dogg, Tech 9Nine, Odd Future, B-Real, Julio G., Shane Powers and Yes Julz by embedding links to the original broadcasts and interviews that air on Dash.

"We believe this is the natural next step for our listeners," said Scott Keeney, aka DJ Skee, CEO and founder at Dash Radio. "We've always looked outside the box of traditional broadcasting to provide the best new music in an easy and free way for our listeners, beyond the typical Top 40. By integrating Genius, we're excited to take that discovery to the next level and take users past what they're hearing and into the deeper meaning of what the artist is trying to say."

"Lyrics connect fans and artists in a singular way," said Brendan Frederick, Director of Content at Genius. "We want Genius to be everywhere and anywhere someone is listening to music, and the team at Dash Radio understands it's not just about providing the lyrics-it's also about engaging in a greater cultural dialogue. We're honored that Dash Radio is integrating Genius and interacting with listeners on a whole new level."
