FIRST BATCH OF iPHONE 7 PLUS SOLD OUT: APPLE

The first run of the iPhone 7 Plus has sold out, according to Apple; if you hit the Cupertino giant's retail outlets tomorrow (9/16) to get your grubby little mitts on one, you'll have to place an order and wait.

Online chatter about the latest religion-replacing, attention-sucking gizmo has largely been focused on the decision by Tim Cook's team to jettison the headphone jack. This decision, which has dismayed much of the commentariat, enabled new tech and a slimmer profile for the iPhone, with wireless earbuds urging consumers toward an ostensibly less encumbered Bluetooth future.

Hey, it's an adjustment. But it's better than having your battery explode and/or your handset burst into flames. Samsung, as you know, has had a rough couple of weeks ever since it was revealed that Galaxy Note 7 phones could overheat and turn into little digital infernos (allegedly starting car fires, among other mischief) if they were charged too long—or, you know, for any other reason. This resulted in a recall, but is said to have done wonders for the Samsung brand in the coveted pyromaniac demo.
